As a sidenote…

Posted on May 1, 2014

Regular readers of my blog will know that I’ve been using the Livefyre comments system for some years now.

They’ve recently announced a new addition to their offering in the form of ‘sidenotes’.

Introducing Livefyre Sidenotes from Livefyre on Vimeo.

I’ve installed the sidenotes  plugin so it’s now available on all posts, post, present and future  so why not give it a whirl?

I’m a big believer in ‘Context being King’ and this is where I can see something akin to sidenotes being valuable.

Here are my initial ideas as to where we could use such a feature.

  • Intranet articles – allows people to add comments, questions etc directly against the section that interests them.
  • Blog posts – as we’re doing here!
  • Video – being able to leave a comment at a specific point in the video and for viewers to then have the option of the video pausing and showing your comment(s) or playing straight through.

Soooo in the interests of science and seeing how this works, why not leave a comment, question or suggestion for potential use using the sidenotes feature?

  1. Very nice intro!  Looks like a useful solution.

Enough of the lurking! Why not leave a comment? You know you want to...
